Walk 13 – Pontypool’s Folly Tower and Ridge Walk – 5.5 Miles

Time to walk: Allow 3 hours
Description: Start this circular walk through the rolling landscape of Pontypool Park designed by Capability Brown and on to the Shell Grotto with its conical stone tiled roof . Wonder at the myriad of shells, minerals and real stalactites on the ceiling . Then onto the Folly Tower with its commanding views; Torfaen County Council are opening these two buildings especially for us as they are normally closed at this time of year. On clear day it is said that visitors can see several counties in England and Wales. Return via the Pontypool – Brecon canal.

Terrain: 1 short steep climb. No stiles.
