Joe Daggett – National Trust

Joe has worked for the National Trust for nearly 20 years – the last 12 as Head Warden, covering Mid and SE Wales. Although his work base is near Brecon, Monmouthshire has two of his favourite sites – Sugar Loaf and Coed y Bwnydd, closely followed by the Clytha Estate. His interests lie in exploring places and walking is a great way to do just that. Joe also enjoys cycling, canoeing, gardening and plays with a ceilidh band and at Irish sessions – but there’s never time to do as much as he’d like to!

Joe has led walks all over the National Trust sites in the the last 15 years – looking at landscape, history, archaeology and wildlife. What he loves about exploring the countryside, is enjoying nature and also looking at understanding the countryside, finding clues from the past and making links to the present and understanding processes that create our landscapes over geological time.
