A Church a Chapel and a Hill Fort

Start & finish point: Queen’s Head pub walker’s car park, Cwmyoy (SO311221).

Distance: Approx 8.5 miles

Time to walk: Approx 6.5 hours

Description: A moderate hill walk with a couple of steep climbs. We visit Twyn Y Gaer Iron Age hill fort, walk the Ffawyddog ridge to the ‘Stone of Revenge’ before crossing the Grwyne Fawr valley to the church and holy well at Partrishow. We pass the Tabernacle Chapel on the return to our starting point. There will be a chance to find out how this special part of Monmouthshire is being looked after.

Terrain: Mountain walking with a couple of steep ascents.

For your rucksack: Packed lunch, snacks and a drink.
