Ghoulies and Ghosties of the Clydach Gorge

Description: The Clydach Gorge has a rich folklore of ghosts, apparitions and unearthly phenomena of various kinds. Join us on this walk for the season of Calan Gaeaf, when the gates of the other world are open.

Starting and ending at Gilwern Car Park, we will hear about (and perhaps sense?) the Tŷ Gwyn poltergeist, the Tyla apparition, Y Hen Wrach y Bryniau (the mountain witch), the dreaded two-faced ghost (Yr Ysbryd Dauwynebog), the fairies of Cwm Pwcca (no! not little pink things in tutus!). Brave the headless hound of Cwm Siôn Matthew and visit the grave of Colonel Sandeman’s faithful dog in Llanelli Churchyard.

Terrain: One steep hill, numerous stiles, excellent views and several possible hauntings…

For your rucksack: A packed lunch, drinks and of course a camera.
