Whilst walking in the Wye Valley I had noticed and been glad of the footpath signs, stiles and gates. When I retired a friend asked if I would like to help keep these paths open so I became a volunteer of the Monmouthshire County Council footpath care team. I especially enjoy leading walks and introducing people to the area I love. My interests are varied enabling me to give a brief picture of the geology, landscape, and the natural and industrial history as we walk. In return I meet new people and walk paths I had not ventured onto before.
Angela Flynn is my seconder. She is the friend who introduced me to footpath care. We both live in the Forest of Dean.
