Description: The walk (supported by the Wales Coast Path Project in Monmouthshire) starts in the pretty village of Magor with its fine church and ruined priory buildings before moving on to Magor Marsh nature reserve. Here we spend some time in this unique habitat preserving as it does some of the special features of the old Gwent Levels. We then head off through the unique landscape of fields and reens to reach the Wales Coast Path. Here the salt marsh and mud flats are important wintering ground for many wading birds. We then return via Caldicot Moors and the village of Undy to Magor.
Terrain: Some road walking. Several stiles. One ascent.
For your rucksack: Packed lunch and drink. Camera and binoculars for wildlife. There are several shops, cafes and pubs to enjoy in the village of Magor.
