Start & finish point: Skirrid Inn, Llanvihangel Crucorney (SO325206).
Distance: Approx 7 miles
Time to walk: Approx 5.5 hours
Description: A spooky start and finish to this walk to coincide with Halloween. Ghosts, ghouls and witches welcome! Starting in the village of Llanfihangel Crucorney, we will cross fields gradually climbing to reach the summit of Ysgyryd Fawr (Big Skirrid) and the site of St Michael’s church. From here we hope to have good views of the Black Mountains to the west and the Malvern Hills to the east. On our return we again cross farmland and tracks with continuing good views. This is an alternative and quieter way to ascend Ysgyryd Fawr.
Terrain: Mostly good well walked paths, muddy and rough underfoot in places, some minor roads. One long steady incline.
For your rucksack: Packed lunch, snacks and a drink.
Price: £5 per ticket
